St. Thomas of Villanova School has a strong tradition of teaching students to excel at athletics as well as academics in preparation for high school. The STV volleyball program is a great example of this. One high school that has reaped the benefits of STV volleyball is Palatine High School (PHS). Past STV boys and girls volleyball players now play PHS volleyball teams from freshman to varsity. STV alums Laura Kluk (STV class ’08), Alex Heidrich (STV class ‘09), and Kyle Obernesser (STV class ‘10) were the starting setters on their respective PHS JV/Varsity teams! With the end of this year’s girls volleyball season, Laura finished her PHS high school volleyball career. She was all-conference, all-area and was voted by her teammates as this year’s MVP. Congratulations Laura!
